Rockstar Games switches out Grand Theft Auto on May 7 for Red Dead Redemption 2, its latest acclaimed open-world hit. While initially praised for its single-player offerings, its multiplayer and profound depiction of modern Los Angeles has seen players return in the millions. Grand Theft Auto V was an unexpected entry to the Xbox Game Pass rotation back in January, following continued success through the console generation, with over half a decade of topping U.S. It's now scheduled to depart on May 7, following four months of availability. Rockstar Games' open-world bestseller entered Microsoft's Xbox subscription service earlier this year, providing unlimited access under the flat $10 monthly free. Grand Theft Auto V is leaving Xbox Game Pass for Xbox One. In the meantime, Red Dead Redemption 2 has recently joined the service. To access your previous Xbox Game Pass progress, purchasing the full game is required. The meter enters a cool down mode & eventually recedes when players are hidden from the officers’ line of the sight (as displayed on mini-map).Updated May 8, 2020: Grand Theft Auto V has now left Xbox Game Pass. Law enforcement officers will search for the players who leave the wanted vicinity. Stars displayed on meter indicate the current wanted level (for example, at the maximum 5-star level, police helicopters & SWAT teams swarm to lethally dispatch the players).
If the players commit crimes while playing, law enforcement agencies may respond as indicated by a “wanted” meter in head-up display (HUD). Players respawn at hospitals when their health depletes. Should the players take damage, their health meter will gradually regenerate to its halfway point.
